The story about the development of Sustainable Valley.US is an exciting collaboration that will foster many more collaborations
throughout the Pioneer Valley.
We are working in the "Knowledge Corridor" of Western Massachusetts in order for this amazing biosphere of 43 municipalities, countless ecosystems, and the yet-to-be-explored possibilities emerge and thrive in an era of volatility. Our dedication is to you, to this land, its people, and its collective wisdom. We'd love to exchange stories. Want to talk? What We Do
Our purpose is to help each Connecticut River Valley organization fulfill its potential to do well in its own right while preserving and protecting our biosphere; and together, help each other become far greater than we can alone; so our thriving Valley will serve as an inspiration for other communities throughout our world. In practical terms, we assist companies to become more profitable and impactful by supporting their efforts to become more sustainable. We conduct systemic assessments - addressing materials use and energy "footprints" as well as internal capacity and process. We implement plans designed to achieve client goals, and we facilitate collaborations to achieve business synergies and constructively influence public policies. We offer three specific services:

The Connecticut River Valley of Massachusetts is a remarkable ecosystem. It's blessed with fertile soil, a major interstate waterway, plus numerous unpolluted ponds and streams, gentle mountains, scenic trails, and a mostly forgiving climate.
Our educational institutions attract students from around the world; our local governments actually work; and we have a tradition of Yankee entrepreneurship that has launched many successful businesses. Yet now our fortune is being put to the test. Excessive focus on short-term profits has led to an extractive mentality, eroding the very ecosystems that sustain us. As Yankee farmers and entrepreneurs have always known, we reap what we sow.
So now is the time. Time to use our good fortune to attend to and renew our Valley -- as an amazing example of progress and possibilities. We can do this. We can put every company, every school and church, every home, and all our infrastructure on a sustainable path. We have a tremendous concentration of knowledge and initiative here - it's time to use it. |
